Video Documentary #1:

Recycling Plastic for fashion with ASICS & Hirdaramani

Deauville Green Awards 2021 Gold Winner, by Hello Love

The Story:

  • ASICS is a Japanese multinational corporation which produces sports equipment designed for a wide range of sports. Aware that the world has a plastic waste problem and that the fashion and sporting goods industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, they commited themselves to creating more sustainable products.

  • As a result they developed a collaboration with the Hirdaramani Group, one of the most sustainable suppliers of materials in the world, and worked with their flagship eco-green facility, Asia’s first carbon neutral apparel factory in Sri Lanka.

  • The idea is to recycle all the ocean waste plastics washed away on the ocean shores of Sri Lanka with the help of the local communities and transform them into an innovative fabric yarn that can then be used to create sport apparel of fantastic quality and performance as well as look & feel as part of a non-compromise approach.

The ASICS film has received a fantastic response across multiple audiences and was a gold winner of the Sustainable Production and the Circular Economy category at the 2021 Green Awards Film Festival for Sustainability, Innovation and Social Responsibility which takes place in Deauville, France.

Video Documentary #2:

Made with love for people and the environment with Four Leaves

Four Leaves documentary, by Hello Love

The Story:

  • Four Leaves is a brand that focuses on products that improve sleep and bathing routines. It aims to contribute to physical, mental and social well-being with a mission of connecting awareness, product and donation that is unique in the bed linen and towel business.

  • Proudly founded by Shiran Gort who was born in an orphanage in Sri Lanka, then later adopted by a Dutch couple, Four leaves is not only a business venture but also his way to give back to Sri Lanka.

  • With a strong background in fashion from The Netherlands, Shiran decided to use the four leaves on the flag of Sri Lanka in their branding and its reference to the four virtues of Buddhism. Their own interpretations serve as the core values of the company:

  1. The 1st  leaf is: loving kindness – or ‘Excel with Friends’, aiming to make a positive impact in the lives of others

  2. The 2nd leaf is: compassion – or ‘Empower Children’, caring about people who are less fortunate than others

  3. The 3rd leaf is: sympathetic joy – or ‘Respect our Globe’, aiming to uplift others and ourselves with the least impact on the environment

  4. The 4th leaf is: equanimity – or ‘Care about Product’, finding the right balance between the greater cause and a sustainable business model
